| Summary, etc. | El Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (INDOTEL) es consistente en reportar años tras años que en el país hay más teléfonos celulares que personas. En especial la existencia de dos millones de “smartphones” con capacidad para conectarse a internet hace que quien tiene menos de 30 años no pueda imaginarse cómo era la vida, y las telecomunicaciones, cuando las esquinas de Santo Domingo estaban marcadas por la instalación de los teléfonos públicos de CODETEL, la única empresa telefónica autorizada para operar hasta el sector en 1997. Es algo del pasado, pero generaciones anteriores valoraban el tener “menudo” en su bolsillo, por si había que hacer una llamada. |
