| Summary, etc. | A pesar de recibir unos 600.000 visitantes extranjeros al año, los indiciones son que la ciudad de Santo Domingo estará aún más demandada por nuevos turistas y "cruceristas" en el corto y mediano plazos. El acortamiento del tiempo de viaje desde Bávaro-Punta Cana que ha hecho posible la Autovía del Este y el creciente flujo de creceros serán las razones de esa nueva situación. Pero esos turistas harán visitas solamente e seis u ocho horas a la ciudad y, por tanto, no pernoctarán en hoteles. De ahí que frente al aumento del inventario de habitaciones que se avizora, la gran hotelería capitalista tendrá que hacer malabares para mantenerse a flote. |
