Este libro aproxima al lector al dato histórico y cuantitativo, que indaga en el movimiento migratorio antillano, en algunas de sus causas, así como en la manera en que esta inmigración tomó cuerpo dentro de lo social, lo económico, lo político y lo cultural cubano. Por décadas miles de antillanos de las clases pobres convirtieron a Cuba en lugar de destino. Provenientes de Haití, Jamaica, República Dominicana y de algunas islas de Barlovento y Sotavento, se instalaron allí para trabajar como mano de obra de diferentes labores, sobre todo agrícolas. |
