Esta obra recoge casi todo los artículos escritos por el historiador Luis Emilio Alemar Rodríguez en diferentes periódicos y revistas a lo largo de varias décadas. El compilador rescata del olvido el trabajo de Alemar, quien por años se dedicó a documentar los hechos y costumbres de la vida cotidiana del dominicano de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Entre otros temas, Alemar escribió sobre la separación dominicana, nuestros próceres, la cartografía del país, las fortificaciones de santo domingo y, sobre todo, la idiosincrasia del dominicano de entonces. |
