La obra está organizada en dos partes: la primera aborda la problemática de la conceptualización del turismo, explica su significado para la sociedad, y se hacen algunas precisiones conceptuales sobre nuevas formas y tipos de actividad turística, aclarándose además, una serie de definiciones y clasificaciones del turismo utilizadas con fines técnicos, entre las que se incluyen las de índole estadística y operativa; en la segunda se trata lo relativo al origen y la evolución de la industria de la hospitalidad en Europa y los antecedentes y su evolución en el continente americano, con comentarios acerca de la evaluación del turismo del sol y playa, y se describen las características que tiene el patrimonio turístico de Latinoamérica. |
